Dr. David Lane: Points East West Veterinary Services, Squamish BC

David Lane, a distinguished graduate of OVC in 1992, brings a wealth of experience in private clinical practice to Northern Vet Partners. Throughout his career, David has adapted to the changing veterinary landscape, transitioning from mixed practice ownership to specializing in canine sports medicine for small animals. As the profession has witnessed a rise in corporate ownership, David, having worked at multiple corporate practices, recognized the potential drawbacks associated with this trend. He sought a different path for his practice that would offer the advantages of being part of a larger organization without compromising the values he holds dear.

Joining NVP was the perfect opportunity for David, it offers him the opportunity to reap the rewards of working with an organization that provides unwavering support and guidance for the continued growth of his practice. NVP offers strategic advice while empowering local decision-making, ensuring the best interests of David’s practice’s patients, clients, and staff are always prioritized. Crucially, NVP steers clear of the drawbacks often associated with corporate ownership, valuing and rewarding staff members for their invaluable contributions. Through streamlined administrative processes, assistance with recruitment, and invaluable business insights, NVP enables everyone to dedicate more time and energy to delivering exceptional care and prioritizing the well-being of their patients. With NVP’s backing, David and his entire team can remain focused on their core mission—providing unparalleled veterinary care—while retaining their autonomy and unwavering dedication to their patients.

After nearly two decades of building up my small animal practice, I had decided that I wanted to explore what a potential transaction to a corporate buyer would look like. Jonathan was able to educate me on the market, the sales process and how to ultimately drive the best price for my practice. Once I officially signed on, Jonathan got to work quickly to assess my practice and helped with easy to implement changes that ultimately would increase the value of my practice. Not only did those changes increase the overall value of my practice(in a significant manner), but Jonathan’s understanding of the market, corporate consolidators and negotiation skills led to an eventual valuation for my practice that was much more than I could have ever imagined. Above all else, Jonathan is someone you can truly trust to always have your best interests at heart and I would recommend every veterinarian work with him.
